Assist the island of Rhodes in raising awareness of the destination within the UK market and to ultimately, increase bookings.
The Strategy
Following the wettest summer in 100 years, we developed a concept to help the island of Rhodes bring the sun to the UK. We dispatched a team of branded ‘Sunkissers’ dressed head to toe in sun costumes to hug and kiss the UK public on the darkest and most depressing days of the year, which put a smile on their faces at a time when they needed it most.
The campaign was launched at a trade and media event and accompanied by a dynamic Social Media Campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, as well as an online game/competition.
This was a highly creative way to entice consumers to visit Crete in real-time immersive settings, which ultimately drove them to book their holidays to the Greek island.
On top of this we hosted campaigns in Asia, organising road-show events for media and trade partners to experience the island of Crete, in key target market destinations.
The Success
Via a dynamic, creative strategy we managed to achieve our digital KPIs and objectives, in addition to securing an extensive range of coverage in top-tier media outlets; which heighted awareness and engagement.
